Food This Week 13

My bulk purchases from Amazon arrived: whole-grain bread mix and pumpkin bread mix. (I got really tired of waiting for canned pumpkin to go on sale, and this will make a nice easy addition to potlucks or housewarmings and such.) That purchase, plus some coconut oil on half price, took me over the September grocery budget. I'll be reducing the November spending to make up for that, but it shouldn't be hard with all the food we have in the house.

Produce Box

This week's box included 2 pears, 3 bananas, 4 apples, a tomato, a bunch of beets, a bunch of red chard, baby carrots, an onion, and a green bell pepper (yuck!). We have plenty of fruit to eat out of hand now. I'll have my wife peel and roast the beets, which can be a nuisance. And I guess I can toss the bell pepper in with the chili.
