Food This Week 3

Still shopping the loss leaders and keeping an eye out for sales on staples. Next week we'll probably still be eating from the freezer for the most part. I think August will be a good month to aim for a 50% grocery budget -- that is, half of the usual monthly spending.

Here's what's happening this week:
In the produce box

  • 4 oranges
  • 5 nectarines
  • 2 pears
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 Roma tomato
  • 4 heirloom tomatoes
  • 2 artichokes

Friday: chicken soup, quesadilla, cucumber; hot dogs, oven fries (frozen), veggies/fruit

  • mayo
  • mac & cheese
  • cream of mushroom soup
  • tortellini
  • pesto
  • some beef and some seafood (I have a general coupon)
Saturday: tuna sandwiches (or w/ chips), applesauce; [BIRTHDAY]
Sunday: eggs & English muffins, nectarines; leftovers; [BBQ (bring fruit salad)]
Monday: frozen curry, rice, fruit from work; grilled cheese, split pea soup
Tuesday: oatmeal & fruit; tuna sandwiches, chips & guacamole / TAKE OUT HAM
Wednesday: [WORK PROVIDES LUNCH]; eggs, ham, English muffins

  • Ziploc bags
  • ketchup
  • ice cream
  • raspberries
  • white corn
Thursday: work leftovers or Indian buffet; pasta w/ meat sauce, broccoli / TAKE OUT MEATLOAF
