Making room for fruits and veggies is important to strike a balance with the prepared foods. At the tail end of the 2-week produce box cycle, they're usually frozen or preserved instead of fresh, but that's fine. We'll get a new box next week. Last weekend, though, I visited City Slicker Farms in West Oakland, and bought an enormous (and sweet, tender, and burstingly fresh!) yellow squash and a basket of plums from their produce stand. That was a nice supplement to the beginning of this week.
